Special fund established to help victims of West, Texas tragedy

In the days and weeks ahead, the people of West, Texas and the surrounding area affected by the recent disaster will encounter short and long-term needs. The Scott & White Healthcare Foundation has established a special fund to help provide support for patients, families and the community.

Concerned citizens can text “WEST” to 56512. In addition, individuals can send donations  in care of “The West Fund” to the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508. All donations are tax deductible and will be restricted for use in responding to the needs of West disaster victims. Distribution of the funds will be overseen by an advisory committee chaired by Lt. General Donald W. Jones, USA-Retired, former senior vice president of the American National Red Cross. Other members of the committee will include residents of West and members of the medical community.
