NBC 5: Baylor Dallas baby boom follows winter ice storm

There is a baby boom this summer at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and NBC 5 (KXAS-TV) reports it comes about nine months after an ice storm that shut down North Texas.

Reporter Amanda Guerra spoke last night to LaToya Scales, RN, a nurse at Baylor Dallas.

According to Scales, Baylor Dallas delivered 50 more babies in July than in the same month last year.

“The storm comes and what else is there to do but stay inside and keep each other company?” Scales told NBC 5.
