Summer safety events at Scott & White

On wheels, in the water or under the sun, summer fun can turn into injury if proper precautions aren’t taken. Learn how to protect you and your family and still enjoy all the warm weather has to offer this summer.

Scott & White is offering a variety of safety events during the second week of our National Safety Month observance.

On Monday, June 7, the Temple Police Department will be located at the Scott & White Temple Towne Center Pediatric Clinic from 1 – 2 p.m. to provide free bicycle safety checks and information on safe riding protocol.

The Temple Fire Department will make its fire safety house available on the front lawn of Scott & White between 1 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8. The mobile facility provides a hands-on learning experience for children emphasizing the importance of home fire safety, including recognizing common in-home fire hazards, learning how to respond to a smoke alarm and how to safely escape a smoke-filled room.

On Wednesday, June 9, the Temple Police Department will provide free child identification services from 1-3 p.m. in the Ambulatory Pediatric Clinic on the main Temple campus. Information and images gathered could play a vital role in the event a child becomes missing.

Tell your family members and friends, who may be off for the summer with their children that these are great safety activities to participate in.

Additionally, the Department of Trauma Services at Scott & White wants to remind parents of other summer safety resources covering:

Extreme Heat

Dehydration Safety

Swimming Safety

Diving Safety

Fireworks Safety

Trampoline Safety
