Take part in National Healthcare Decisions Day, April 16th

A massive effort to highlight the importance of advance health care decision-making has led to the formal designation of April 16, 2010 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD).

This public awareness initiative seeks to increase the number of people who have thought about end-of-life care and made their wishes known through advance care directives. (See our related post, “Do Not Resuscitate: What Does It Mean Exactly?”) NHDD is a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the United States have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their health care decisions.
