In an ABC News Twitter chat moderated by Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News’ Chief Health and Medical Editor, panelists were asked to answer a series of questions about common diet and health influences. Stephanie Dean, a registered dietician on staff at Baylor Scott & White Health, participated in the chat.
How common is obesity or being overweight in America? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly 35.1 percent of adults 20 years and older are obese, while 69 percent are overweight.
