KERA’s ‘Broken Hip’ live event: Submit your questions now

Next week, KERA will take its fascinating “Broken Hip” series to the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas for a live panel discussion.

The program, which is open to the public (RSVPs are required), will be moderated by KERA’s Health reporter, Lauren Silverman. She’ll provide an overview of The Broken Hip series, a radio and digital storytelling project that highlights the impact of a broken hip on patients, families and caregivers.

For those planning to attend, you’ll have a chance to ask questions. But we’re also seeking questions in advance. You can submit them in the comments section or on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #TheBrokenHip.

Dr. Alan Jones, medical director of orthopedic trauma at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, will be one of the featured speakers next week. He wrote earlier this year on Scrubbing In about risk factors and prevention.

You can also learn more about hip fractures among older adults on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
